Spectacular views, boutique hotel quality decor and a true experience in relaxation – my simple summation of how incredible our stay was at The Ridge. We left Toronto in our typical work-crazed, stressed-out moods and 90 minutes later it dissipate as we walked out onto one of the most expansive decks with a heightened, panoramic view of spectacular Georgian Bay. This deck and the multitude of plush seating was our nest for the entire week. We simply couldn’t get enough of the majestic view and privacy with not another cottage in sight. A quick walk down for a dip on the sandy beach was appreciated later in the day. Our nights were spent cooking in a chef-style kitchen where our group of friends could mingle like we were in our own homes… followed by dinner on another deck with the most incredible Georgian Bay sunset as our backdrop. The entire week was the perfect escape… we’re booking again.

It was the ultimate country escape for our “girls’ weekend” with an urban resort feel - luxurious contemporary amenities were well thought out to meet every need, restful or decadent. The owner, one of Toronto's favourite designers, helped us arrange every thing we wanted from fois gras to firewood. Nature even kept up the ambiance… there is nothing quite like sitting 150ft in the air watching the sun set over Georgian Bay with a chilled glass of champagne. Magical!

As “Foodies” it’s rare to find a place where the kitchen is designed for cooks. The big open kitchen at the Ridge was an amazing space for us all to hang out and prepare our meals. The outdoor dining deck or cozy dining room were the perfect places to enjoy them. A fellow “foodie”, the owner Darren, made sure we found all the local treats from smoke trout at Henry’s (still warm out of the smoker!) to Wendy B’s fabulous homemade chicken liver Pate. We ate! We drank! We Laughed! We loved it! Bon Appetite!

The Ridge… what an amazing place! The view is beautiful and the sunsets are breathtaking! The cottage is so private, you feel like you have an estate all to yourself. We were concerned that the house wasn’t directly on the water but it was so nice. We went down to the beautiful sandy beach to go swimming and then back up to the serenity of the deck. Everything we wanted to do to relax and have fun was there: cozy bedrooms with big, comfortable beds (better than the ones seen at your best hotel room); a huge living-dinning-kitchen area with floor to ceiling windows… BTW, that kitchen is fantastic, I’m sure any chef would love it; and a beautiful, romantic beach that was so relaxing we wanted to stay until the sunset. I will highly recommend The Ridge to my friends. You’ve done a great job! Thanks!

We’ve been to The Ridge a few times and it’s my favourite place to unwind with family and friends. The Ridge is so private and peaceful it takes you away from the everyday grind of the city while still offering all the comforts of home – and a few more. The beds are big and comfortable as well as the large chef style kitchen and warm atmosphere. We’d jog in the morning, head to the beach in the afternoon, then dine to a spectacular Georgian Bay Sunset at night. It’s hard to leave the deck but we’ve ventured out into the area to see the historic sites and also to hike through the trails of Awenda Park. We can’t wait to go back next year!

What can I say? The Ridge is synonymous with serenity and style. From the moment we drove down the treed driveway, the city was a distant memory and we felt transported into a place only captured in movies. The unobstructed views of Georgian Bay are breathtaking and immediately place you in a state of relaxation. The water is the clearest I’ve experienced in all of Ontario.. As for the house itself, it’s a stunner! The open floor plan and large windows brings the outdoors in and the furniture and fixtures are top notch. The sober designer décor and chef kitchen made it difficult to leave at the end of our stay; which is why we’re planning to go back.

The ultimate in privacy, peace and modern luxury !   
Everything that we could have wanted and more......Each room had a level of detail of a 5 star hotel, from the beds, to the gourmet kitchen to the beautiful views during the day and the fantastic sunsets at night. A perfect place to unwind, entertain, and there was even a private sandy beach ! More than I expected.

Ashley and I thoroughly enjoyed our weekend.  From the moment we drove on the tree lined private drive to the cottage we started to feel relaxed and excited about the weekend ahead.  The daytime views are stellar but it's the evening sunsets that take your breath away.   And how nice it was to roam around the property and follow the trails to the beach. If the ice cubes hadn't kept flying out of my glass I may have gone for a run on one of those great paths. Oh, and we would have helped with breakfast in the morning but the beds were too comfortable to get out of!

What a great stay at your Georgian Gay retreat!  Everything about it is amazing. Over and over again i was struck by the beautiful views.  There is nothing that can quite compare to sitting on the deck, drink in hand, watching the sunset over Christian island.  The escarpment is magnificent I felt like it was in BC - lots of beautiful trees, fresh air and quiet, with easy access to awesome running trails and a beautiful sandy beach, punctuated with those awesome Georgian Gay boulders.
